My aim as a movement teacher is to help you improve your quality of life.  Strengthening the body, improving movement patterns, posture and breathing – all things that can be incorporated into your daily life for improved health and well being.

I am comprehensively trained in both Contemporary and Classical Pilates and have many years of teaching experience. I have worked with clients of all ages and abilities, including those with complicated health conditions and injuries.

Originally I trained in dance at The Central School of Ballet, London. After graduation I joined the Scottish Ballet and performed with them in many full length classical ballets as well as numerous shorter contemporary and dramatic pieces. My first introduction to Pilates was all those years ago as a professional ballet dancer!

Living in California (2009-12) gave me the unique opportunity to study the full method of Pilates with Body Arts and Science International (BASI Pilates®). The BASI Comprehensive Teacher Training program is a rigorous and demanding program of academic study, practice, apprenticeship and observation – encompassing the full range of Pilates apparatus.

Since my first teacher training I have continued to study and regularly attend workshops by world renown teachers such as Alan Herdman, Lolita San Miguel, Michele Larsson, Sonje Mayo, Brooke Siler, Junghee Won and Blossom – to name just a few!

During 2015/16 I participated in New York based Shari Berkowitz’s 18 month Vertical Workshop Teacher Intensives Program (in London), which focused on applying modern biomechanics and functional anatomy to the Classical Pilates method. I still take regular sessions with Shari and in 2025 I participated in The Vertical Workshop Bridge program in Padua, Italy.

In both September 2017 and March 2018 I was fortunate to attend two separate five day intensives with Madeline Black who is a distinguished international educator in movement and exercise education.

Continuing to study with some of the most respected educators in the Pilates industry has always been a high priority. This is how I continue to stay inspired, passionate and up to date in exercise science.

When not doing Pilates I am looking after my three children and walking the coast path with my sausage dog, Lola!
